SUMMARY:DFW Pets Are Family
DESCRIPTION:Pets belong at home with the people who love them\, not in shelters because times are tough. \nBut with times tougher than ever\, more and more people are struggling\, shelters and rescues across the country and in the Dallas Fort Worth area are feeling the impact. At just one shelter in the DFW metropolitan area\, pet intakes increased by nearly 10%\, last year\, compared to 2021. \nWhen families have trouble accessing resources and feel like there are no options\, they are more likely to make desperate decisions and pets can end up being surrendered\, even when they are so loved. Last year\, a collective of area organizations\, including ours\, came together. Supported by CUDDLY\, we provided almost 100\,000 lbs of food\, plus free medical services and supplies to local families. Even so\, it was a drop in the bucket compared to the need. \nThat’s why we’ve committed to again participating in the DFW Pets Are Family events in 2024\, with four events total. Our goal is to make the most impact by providing the community with what they need to stay together. Families shouldn’t be separated when all they need is a little bit of help. \nPlease consider donating an item off our wishlist today to provide that help. DESCRIPTION:Poetry In Ceramic is BACK for our eighth in-person show\, and we have got one heck of an event planned for you! We have fourteen incredible artists lined up for you\, a fabulous venue with mouthwatering drinks and food on their menu\, and a partnership with Dallas Pets Alive so you can snuggle adoptable dogs while looking at the art! We will be at Community Beer Company in Dallas on Sunday\, December 7th\, from noon to 5:00. Please note that noon to 1:00 will be the VIP hour; for $25\, you get early access to the pots\, an object made by one of the artists\, some other goodies\, and a drink token\, plus half of that money goes to support the mission of Dallas Pets Alive! \nWe will also have a wheel on location\, and for a small fee\, you can have thirty minutes to try your hand at the potter’s wheel. \nThere will be a silent auction\, demonstrations by the artists\, and\, of course\, some of the best ceramics that North Texas has to offer. We can’t wait to see you there!
