No, it’s not an April Fool’s Joke! Dallas Pets Alive! (DPA) and our good friends and supporters at Community Beer Company have partnered for our “Beer to the Rescue” drive to encourage the North Texas community to add a new family member to their home while we shelter in place!

What it is: If you adopt an animal with Dallas Pets Alive!, Community Beer will reward you with one case of their amazing core beers ($40 value), and if you foster an animal, they will reward you with a six pack ($10 value). This promotion includes Community Beer’s core beers: Mosaic IPA, Citra Slice IPA, Hop Skinny, Texas Lager, Witbier, and Silly Gose. Cases can be mix/match 6 packs.

How you find your animal: You can apply to adopt or foster a homeless animal from DPA today! There are adoption and foster volunteer counselors ready, willing and able to help you through the process. Once you’re getting warm hugs and licks in your very own home you’ll get your very own special code to receive your reward.

How you get your beer: Community Beer Co. is located at 1530 Inspiration Dr., Dallas, TX, 75207. They are open 7 days a week, from 12 – 7 p.m. for you to pick up your free beer curbside, directly to your car for an entirely “touch-less” experience. We encourage purchasing extra beer for all your quarantine needs. You must order online for pick up!

“Four-legged friends get us through some of the toughest of times and it’s important we remember to support them, and rescue groups like Dallas Pets Alive! that care for them in times of need,” said Corey Dickinson, director of marketing operations for Community Beer Company. “ We can’t imagine a better way to celebrate these companionships than over a cold Community Beer!”

“We are thrilled that Community Beer Company is helping us bring attention to adopting and fostering during this unprecedented time,” said Leslie Sans, executive director of Dallas Pets Alive! “We have seen an amazing outpouring of support from the community to help get animals out of shelters and into homes since the COVID-19 outbreak. We want to continue the success and encourage families to open up their homes to an animal in need. Dogs, cats and beer can make this uncertain time a little bit easier!”

Here are some low-risk COVID-19 activities that can bring you happiness whether your pet is a foster or a permanent member of your family:

  • Walking your dog
  • Petting your cat
  • Staring at your pet
  • Playing with you pet
  • Feeding your animals treats
  • Telling your pet how good they are
  • Cuddling while working remotely

Experts say dogs and cats can’t get sick from COVID-19, and they can’t pass it on to humans, as far as they know. But if you test positive, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says it is best that you don’t interact with any pets and have someone else in your home temporarily take care of them.

About Dallas Pets Alive!
Dallas Pets Alive! is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit rescue group dedicated to promoting and providing resources, education and programs to eliminate the killing of companion animals throughout North Texas.

DPA rescues and helps the healthy and treatable pets at greatest risk for euthanasia at partner shelters. DPA also provides assistance and resources to pet owners having problems so significant that they need to surrender their pets to a shelter. DPA’s goal is to one day make North Texas a no-kill community.

Dallas Pets Alive! needs your help to continue our lifesaving programs. Due to the impact of COVID-19 across the country, we are experiencing a tragic loss of donations that would typically support our mission. In addition, we have lost critical revenue as we’ve postponed fundraising events. If you are able to donate to support our various programs, click here to make your gift.

About Community Beer:
Our state-of-the-art brewery is made by Newlands, one of the premier manufacturers of brewery equipment in the world. In order to ensure the highest quality, we manage our own yeast using our in-house yeast lab. Our location in central Dallas, located on the edge of the Design District, allows us to be a strong part of the North Texas community and a hub for a diverse lineup of events … all while supporting local artists, musicians, and charities whenever we can. We call this “Beer For The Greater Good.” Our brewers love what they do, and we love sharing our craft with you! Cheers!
