Ruff Life: Elsa is Ready to ‘Let Go’ of Her Past

When she showed up at Dallas Animal Services, it was like she was frozen. It reminded them of a young Elsa, her namesake, in Disney’s Frozen, turning everyone away while hiding out in her room. The circumstances, though, were much different. Ruff Life No Longer: Isabella Finds Her Forever Home

Ruff Life No Longer: Isabella Finds Her Forever Home

On June 1st, CW33 shared Isabella’s Ruff Life story. That night, the Kolesar family watched her segment and knew they had to meet her. As one of the more timid dogs in the Dallas Pets Alive! organization, it warmed our hearts to learn that all she needed was a family – particularly one with a set of triplet siblings! “I think she kind of gave us more of a second chance, to be honest,” Joe Kolesar said. “We lost our two puppies we had for 11 years, and I didn’t think something could fill that void, but she did.” Isabella’s “ruff life” is no more! We have seen a complete transformation from Isabella, which serves as a perfect representation of our purpose. Happy tails to Isabella! To watch this Ruff Life segment, please click here. Ruff Life: Sweet Lou Goes From Hopeless to Happy with Hospice Fosters

Nine months later, Lou is still enjoying his time out of the shelter with his new family. “He’s got a pep in his step,” Ashley Igo said. “I didn’t think he had more than a day or two to live… but he has played a joke on all of us.” Lou with stay with the Igos until the end with all medical costs taken care of by Dallas Pets Alive! No matter when that is, we are humbled to know he will be surrounded by love. To watch this Ruff Life segment, please click here. Special thanks to CW33 for sharing this...

Ruff Life: Athletic Sweet Pea is Running Your Way

Ruff Life: Athletic Sweet Pea is Running Your Way

When good samaritans found this brindle beauty on the side of the road, they made a call to Animal Control only to find that there was no vacancy. What was the family to do? To take their good samaritan hospitality to a whole new level, they decided to take her in as a foster! With a flowery name like Sweet Pea, you might expect a small dog lying in a garden of gardenia. This pup, however, is more likely to be found running for gold (or maybe just a squirrel). After a long day of athletic training, she often takes her break by cuddling up to her fosters.
