Hi, my name is Officially A Brontosaurus!
Adult Medium Female
Basenji / Mixed
Meet Officially A Brontosaurus, a 2 year old red/white Basenji mix, who weighs about 50 pounds. Ginger does well on a leash, housetrained, and does well in her crate while her foster family is at work.
She was found and brought to the shelter by a Dallas Pets Alive! Volunteer and we suspect she was abandoned when her family moved away. As a result, she’s shy at first until you earn her trust, but once you do she never wants to leave your side. Her foster family should have named her Ariel, because she just wants to be where the people are!
Officially A Brontosaurus would be a great exercise companion for someone with an active lifestyle.
She loves going for walks and jogs around the neighborhood. She does take some time to warm up to new animals and would do best in a home with no other animals, or with one small dog. She gets along with her furry foster sibling which is a 12 lb. terrier mix, so a young dog that likes to play would be best. She and her furry foster sibling cat also get along, but she sometimes plays a little too rough for kitty’s liking- but not so rough that it keeps him from playing with her. She has not had much exposure to children, so we don’t know how she would do with them, but can always set up an introduction!
Officially A Brontosaurus has proven quite agile and has lots of energy, and would do best in a home where she would be inside during the day or in a yard with a high fence. Her foster family loves her adorable bat-like ears that perk up when she’s excited. Who wouldn’t want to come home to that?
