Hi, my name is Blackie!

Senior Medium Male
Cocker Spaniel / Mixed

Introducing this sweet senior named Blackie. He is a gentle 14 year old cocker spaniel with big black eyes, floppy ears, and an old man beard.

Blackie is quiet around the house. He is a little hard of hearing, but clapping can get his attention when you need him. His former owners cited "health reasons" for surrendering him, yet nothing serious was found by vet. He does seem to have hip problems, (which doesnt seem to slow him down) and a little staining on ears, from previous years of suspected neglect – but all in all most of his issues are due to age and nothing needing further treatment. Soft food should be given to him, nothing hard or crunchy, for his delicate, old-man teeth.

Blackie does well around other dogs, as long as they are calm. Any children in his possible adoption home would probably need to be older, and a low-key household is preferred. This old man is content being by your side, snoozing the day away. He has little interest in doggy toys, but enjoys a nice, short walk with a decent pace. He knows how to shake when you hold your hand out to him, and paws at you if he wants your attention!

Blackie has definitely earned the right to live out his last years in the most loving home possible, with a true second chance at being rescued! Could it be with you? Apply to adopt him today!
